Focusing Your Faith on the Word, not on the Problems.
For faith to produce a result, it has to be focused on the word of God.
One major aspect of making our faith to produce results is the training of our minds to stay focused on the word of God and his promises.
In 2nd Corinthians 5: 7, the bible says:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight”
The New Living Translation says “For we live by believing and not by seeing.”
Our human mind must be trained to rest and relax on what God says.
As a human, we have been conditioned to see, hear and feel things around us and we are conditioned to respond to those external stimuli.
However, living a life of faith places a responsibility on us to rewire and retrain our mind to not allow ourselves to be enslaved by what the circumstances and things going on in our lives reveal. Our trust must be placed on the things God has revealed or spoken to us.
Worries, Fear, Anxiety is produced in our mind; they are the interpretations of our brains to the things that are happening around us. Sometimes these feelings and emotions can be overwhelming and can lead to health challenges and wrong decisions.
When you allow what has gone wrong in or happening in your life to be your main focus, you would be dragged into worries, frustration and depression.
Focusing on God’s words and promises eliminates worries and anxiety. It builds faith in you through which you can move any mountains of difficulties and impossibilities out of your life.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20 (New Living Translation)
Fear comes from focusing on the monstrousness of the challenges of life; Faith comes from focusing on God’s word.
As we continue to look into the word of God in prayer and meditation day and night, the process of producing changes in our circumstance is initiated. It is like putting dirty clothes into the washing machine and turn it on. Once we put it in the right program on the machine, It will go into washing, rinsing, spinning etc. The same way the word of God develops a strong faith in our lives which eventually makes the delivery of the things God has promised or a solution to any challenges we may be facing.
You can’t keep focusing on the problem and produce a faith-based solution.
In Numbers 13:25-33; The Israelites sent spies to go and inspect the promised land which God had promised to give the Israelite. The needed the Spies to go, covertly, inspect the land, check the nature of the place, study the culture, food, people and also establish the suitable route they would need to take when they are going to move into that land. This journey was to be a fact-finding mission. After forty days of clandestine inspection, the twelve spies returned with the report of their findings.
They all confirmed that the land is good; flowing with milk and honey. It was a fertile land with a lot of agricultural potentials. The Ten of the twelve spies did not only take records of what was in the land but they also focused their attention on the giants that were in the land.
They probably spent the forty days focusing on and thinking about the size of the giants and when it was the time for them to make recommendations about possessing the land of promise enough fear has been built up in their hearts to the extent that they couldn’t see how they were going to be able to possess the land.
Focusing on the giants creates grasshopper complex: You start to see every reason why the situation would be impossible to change.
Numbers 13:
25And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
26And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
27And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey, and this is the fruit of it.
28Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.
29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature.
33And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Instead of focusing on that medical reports, payment demand, the court summons, unpaid bills etc, shift your focus onto God and pay attention to his word. Pray his words and meditate on his words.
Once your attention is directed into the promises of God, the peace of God that transcends all understanding will come into your life. Then you will start to receive the instructions, directions, ideas, impartation and inspiration that is required to move you out of the difficulty zones.
In Isaiah 26:3, the Bible says:
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Trains your mind to focus only on the promises of God and as you do so there shall be the manifestation of the things you are believing God for.
Grace and Peace be multiplied to you!
