You have been travelling a particular road for so many years and the road hasn’t brought you to the desired destination, you need to stop.

Wasting your time and destiny is not patience. Stop equating the loss of direction with patience. Sometimes it’s important we accept that we are lost and retrace our steps.

If you are using a particular principle, held a particular belief, or in a particular job, or in a certain relationship and you are not getting any result – the right thing to do is stop.

You must learn how to use feedback to your own advantage.

Find out what is working and double up on it. In the same vein find out what is not working in your life or for you and stop doing them. Life is too short to have it wasted on non-productive elements.

The only validation for a right strategy or effort is the result they bring.

“Yet, wisdom is proved right by all its results.”

Luke 7:35 God’s Word Translation.

To succeed in life or in any venture you are engaged in, you must operate scientific process:

  1. Make observations about situations in your life.
  2. Ask questions about why things are the way they are. Your business, life, family and relationship are not just the way they are by accident.
  3. Form hypothesis. You need to come to some sort of conclusion or have a theory based on available evidence why the situation is the way they are.

This will be the ground for looking for a solution.

  1. Start experimenting. You need to start doing different things to see what is producing a different result. I told you earlier that you need to stop doing what is not producing the result in your life. It doesn’t matter what it is you have been doing; it’s time to try a couple of new approaches.
  2. Analyse your result. Make new decisions and conclusions. Filter what is working for you and trash what is not working.
  3. Keep repeating cycle 1-5 again and again.

You don’t have to spend the whole of your life trying to train a pig to fly. Certain things must be stopped and new chapters must be opened.

It is not scriptural to be wasting your time, in the name of patience and persistence, or waiting upon the Lord when you are not getting the right result at the appropriate time.

The Lord Jesus Christ was not silent about this:

He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

Luke 13:6-8
(See other reference – Matthew 3:10; 7:19)

If you have been giving all your best to a cause for over four years and you are not getting a positive result or better off, Jesus advised a change of direction.

There are things God or Jesus won’t tell you in person because the information or the advice is already available in the written word.

However, seek God for direction if you feel like you are fishing in a dry pond.

In conclusion, if you are running a business that is not yielding any profit, but debts piling up instead, and you are finding it difficult to let go –  You may have been affected by ‘endowment effect’; what the psychologist call ‘divestiture aversion’. This is a psychological state where people are not willing to let go of things and attach too much importance to them because they own them.

Let go of anything or anyone that is stopping you this period. This is the first day of the beginning of the rest of your life.

God wants you to progress and so do I. Don’t stand in your own way.

You will succeed.
